What a wonderful treat! Just got my Autumn edition of The Cottage Journal magazine last week and, I was thinking, it sure doesn't feel like Fall when temperatures have been in the 100s with lows in the high 70s or 80s. It has been another brutally hot and dry summer for us here in Oklahoma (as in many places). Anyway, Thursday we had a front come through and it is 65 degrees this morning. The owls put on a symphony for me while I was sitting out on the patio. And now as the sun comes up, the birds are flying giddily around enjoy the coolness.
So, even though it is supposed to be close to 100 again today, we were given a wonderful taste of Fall and a reminder to have faith - comes to this hot weather too shall come to pass.

A Simple Pleasure - It's Just Like Christmas
Sometimes, it doesn't take much to make me happy - like coming home and seeing this in the mail -
My Quilting Arts magazine!!! It feels just like Christmas when this magazine arrives. This is one of only two magazines that I still subscribe to. Two of my other favorites have been taken out of publication - Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion and Claire Murray's La Vie Claire - I really miss these. When QA comes in - no matter what day of the week, I make myself some tea (iced in the summer, hot in the winter), sit down and just absorb everything in the mag. I am never disappointed.
In search of more of these SIMPLE pleasures -
Blessings,
Kat
Thanks to Kev - he knew I was having a very tiring day at work and called to tell me it had arrived - perked me right up! He loves me, he really loves me!! :)
